What a lovely old word, "propinquity"! And yes, you can't make someone a cup of tea, or look after their children, from 1000 miles away. Place is also centrally relevant to bioregional thinking. So let's sense into a good question (please help!); let me try — "How could we bring together the small scale neighbourly caring for each others' health, with the larger scale caring for the health of the ecosystems in our world? And, aren't they actually interdependent, when you look into it a bit deeper?" And on a more directly practical level: "what is a practical first step towards re-mutualising our health care, while not rejecting the great advances in medicine that have come through globalised medical research?"

Love this. Thank you. Very exciting. I think the points made like the state killing voluntary systems by statute, regulation and tax is a major hurdle. Reawakening people to the idea of 'Friendly Societies ' will be important too. I like the idea of 'Chama's' too. Gonna be doing some research:-).
